Dear Anxious, Overwhelmed, Fearful, and Stressed,

Dear Anxious, Overwhelmed, Fearful, and Stressed,

DSC_0151

I know you probably don’t have time to read this. You may end up reading this because you are avoiding your massive to-do list. I don’t really have time myself but I am going to write this anyway.

Day after day I watch and hear people repeat. “This is awful! I stayed up all night. I am the busiest in this class! I am barely surviving. I don’t think I am going to survive. Help me!” I hate that we have to endure this. I hate that anyone ever feels this way. I hate that people are missing life. There is more to life than running a rat race. I am right there with you, I love my to-do list. I can relate with you, there are days where I feel like I am NEVER going to get through. I get anxious, I get overwhelmed, and I get cranky. But at the end of the day I end up going to bed, at the end of the week I can celebrate, and at the end of the semester I feel accomplished. Starting today let’s decide today to….

STOP the GLORIFYING of BUSY and START the GLORIFYING of PEACE!

You are going to make it!

You are going to make it to tomorrow!

You are going to make it to the end of the week!

You are going to make it to the end of the semester!

You are going to make it to graduation day!

You are going to leave a legacy!

I am not saying give up your busy life. I am saying stop missing the point of life. Which is joy. Decide whether you are going to check off your to-do list in joy or distress. Your circumstances should not and don’t have to change your peace. Please know that you hold the complete power to keep your joy and peace.

My To-Do List for You:

  • Enjoy these days as you can
  • Do what makes you at peace.
  • Allow time for self-care.
  • Then accomplish the to-do list.

The to-do list will always be there but people won’t.

In Christ, Melanie
